Musio is the first, true Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) device. With human-level intelligence, it has the capacity to learn new phrases, ideas, and information – the more you interact with Musio, the more it learns. This means that over time, Musio behaves less like an artificially intelligent machine and more like a friend that can interact socially.
In May 2015, AKAStudy, the creators of Musio, approached Herscu & Goldsilver to launch the crowdfunding campaign for the product. In addition to the quick turnaround time (two weeks to develop an Indiegogo page, set up advance media briefings in Toronto and New York City, develop press materials, etc.) the main challenge for Herscu & Goldsilver was to effectively persuade media in North America and beyond that AKAStudy was pioneering the future of A.I technology.
The team also faced these challenges:
- Memorial Day long weekend in the U.S. resulted in media taking extended vacations the same week that the advance briefings with NYC-based media were booked
- Google’s annual IO conference was taking place on the same day as the NY press briefings.
- The robot was not able to be transported to Canada in time for the media briefings with Toronto-based media
In late May, Herscu & Goldsilver lined up media briefings for Musio’s team in NYC with Engadget, TechCrunch, Time Magazine, WIRED, and Android Central. The following day, virtual briefings took place in Toronto with Sun Media, TechVibes, ITWorld Canada, and The Globe and Mail.
As a result of Herscu & Goldsilver’s targeted outreach, Musio met its $50,000 crowdfunding goal in 15 days and generated 25+ million media impressions worldwide, including coverage on Entrepreneur.com, Huffington Post, Slashgear, Digital Journal, Canoe.ca, Calgary Herald, Ottawa Sun, MSN, and AOL, Fox News, and many more.
